Galadriel is a fictional character created by J. R. R. Tolkien,appearing in his Middle-earth legendarium. She appears in The Lord ofthe Rings, The Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales. She was an elf-queenof Middle-earth and the co-ruler of Lothlórien along with LordCeleborn. She could be referred to as The Lady of Lórien, The Lady ofthe Galadhrim, or The Lady of the Wood interchangably. Within the realmof Lothlórien, she was referred to as simply Lady Galadriel or TheLady. It was said that her height was two rangar (Q. 'rangar'=stride),or "man-high" - about 6 ft. 4 in., or 193 cm. However, Galadriel's moststriking feature is her beautiful long silver-golden hair. The Elves ofTirion said it captured the radiance of the Two Trees Laurelin andTelperion themselves:
"Even among the Eldar shewas accounted beautiful, and her hair is held a marvel unmatched. It isgolden like the hair of her father and of her foremother Indis, butricher and more radiant, for its gold is touched by some memory of thestarlike silver of her mother; and the Eldar say that the light of theTwo Trees, Laurelin and Telperion, has been snared in her tresses."
